Abstract: The present study investigated the sediment river delta in Porce II reservoir, located in the department of Antioquia, Colombia, by analyzing hydrological, bathymetric, sedimentological and operations available data, and the implementation of one-dimensional moving boundary model - GSTARS4 V.1. Real and synthetic scenarios were studied, generating some trends about processes associated with the river delta formation, showing that beyond certain thresholds of water level in the reservoir together with the increasing inflows of some magnitude, the front moves faster that during the largest batches of water level fall recorded in the reservoir during the period analyzed in terms of the average flow of the Porce river. This is the main determinant of the position and height of the pivot point of the delta levels even more than the most frequent reservoir operation levelsKeywords
