Abstract. The main purpose of this work is to give some clues about the primary mechanism of forbidden high ionisation lines (FHILs) production in Active Galactic Nucleus (AGNs) through the study of a significant sample of Seyfert galaxies with detectable emission of this kind of lines. With a catalogue of 400 Seyfert galaxies with FHILs emission, most of them from the 9th release of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS), but also with data from a tailored search in the literature; we present for the first time diagnosis diagrams using the following lines: [Ne v] 3426, [Fe vii] 6087, [Fe x] 6374 and [Fe xi] 7892. In addtion to this, we utilised the photoionisation code CLOUDY (Ferland et al. 2013) to reproduce the observational arrangement showed in the diagnosis diagrams, adopting the ionising continua employed to simulate lines of low ionisation potential (Koski 1976; Padovani and Rafanelli 1988; Komossa and Schulz 1997; Ferland et al. 2013). By analysing the diagnosis diagrams we found a possible anisotropy of emission between Seyfert 1 and Seyfert 2 galaxies, which agrees with the results found by Nagao (2000) and Portilla (2013). This anisotropy shows a tendency of emission preference in Seyfert 1 galaxies that depends of the ionisation potential of the lines, it is a possible indicator that one important portion of the emission comes from the inner part of the torus. The photoionisation code could reproduce the arrangement of Seyfert 1 galaxies for one of the diagnosis diagrams presented in this work . Finally, this results support the possible over abundance of iron given by Ballero et al. (2008) for Seyfert 1 galaxies. Keywords
