Summary
Abstract. This study is part of the field of reviewing and transformation of teaching and learning activities that take place in the classroom in order to build the concept of number with transition’s students. After a reflection on traditional models implemented for this type of knowledge, its failure is recognized. Hence the question of how to transform teaching practices and content used in this learning process is postulated. To give response, the research is supported in the theoretical basis of Jorge Castaño’s work (1991), which keeps the number as a system composed by relations of order and equivalence and additive operations. To answer the question of how to notice them in children, the implementation of activities of interaction is proposed. The research works from a qualitative approach based on the methodology of Action Research; from these, the information collected is analyzed in order to say, as a fundamental finding, that the use of activities of classroom interaction that problematize everyday experiences and that may require the use of such numerical relations is an adequate alternative to meet the desired objectives. Keywords
