Two pure compounds were isolated by column chromatography from the chloroformic and methanolic extracts of the marine sponge Didicus oxeata and were identified by spectroscopic methods as the sesquiterpenes (+)-Curcuphenol and Curcudiol. The methanolic, chloroformic extracts, (+)-Curcuphenol and Curcudiol showed LC50 of 0.54, 5.57, 3.10 and 0.70 m g/mL in Artemia salina larvae respectively. The same extracts and isolated compounds presented antitumour activity in concentrations major than 60 m g/mL by the method of Agrobacterium tumefacins in carrot disc.Collections
