En un estudio de tipo descriptivo-prospectivo se analizaron las prescripciones que involucraban tres o mas medicamentos para los pacientes de los servicios de medicina interna de tres hospitales Universitarios de tercer nivel del Distrito Capital de Bogotá Colombia, de Julio del 2000 a Junio de 2001. Las interacciones se clasificaron con el programa “DRUG THERAPY SCREENING SYSTEM (D.T.S.S.) 2000-2 y 2001-1 de Medi-Span Development Corp; Stanford University. El 52,7% de la prescripciones (4928) presentaron interacciones, el número de medicamentos por fórmula fue de 3 a 15 máximo. Las interacciones de acuerdo a la documentación fueron de tipo D o posibles (68,9%), el 10,1% establecidas y el 14,0% de tipo B o probables; según severidad, moderadas (46,2%) y mayores con un 29,0% y según el tiempo de aparición, el 74,1% fueron tardías.Summary
Description of the drug-drug interactions in the Internal Medicine services from three third level of attention university hospitals from Bogotá, D.C., Colombia, were analyzed in a descriptive and prospective study. The prescriptions that involved three or more drugs were analyzed for the Internal Medicine patients between July, 2000 and June, 2001. Interactions were classified according to the “DRUG THERAPY SCREENING SYSTEM (D.T.S.S.) from Medi-Span Development Corp; Stanford University. 52.7% of the prescriptions (4928) presented interactions, the number of drugs by prescription were from 3 to a maximum of 15. The interactions according to the records were type D or possible (68.9%), 10.1% established and 14.0% type B or probable; according to the severity, 46.2% were moderated and 29.0% were greater; and according to the time of appearance 74.1% were later.Collections
