Colombian history reveals the specificities of educational policies in a Latin country bordered by two oceans, with fertile lands and a changing weather. This article highlights the concepts of education and culture as presented by Echeverry (2001), with the main purpose of promoting German-Colombian relationships in a spirit of tolerance, open to transformation, all-embracing and multi-cultural, through the observation of both societies, and their contribution to pedagogical processes. These concepts are applied to the Colombian context and compared with the German context, thus enriching communication through the observation of other facts closely related with German history and philosophy.Keywords
