Evaluación de la fertilización sobre el daño de diatraea spp. y producción en parentales e híbridos de maíz

Abstract

En Palmira, Colombia a 1.000 m.s.n.m. se realizó un experimento en un diseño de bloques completos al azar, con trece genotipos de maíz, los parentales de cinco híbridos y tres materiales comerciales; se utilizaron cinco bloques tres de ellos con fertilización (150 kg/ha de 15-15 -15 + 350 kg/ha de sulfato de Amonio). El 90% del daño de Diatraea spp. se concentró en los primeros ocho entrenudos y hubo mayor daño en los bloques fertilizados. Los híbridos ICA H-211 e ICA H-260 presentaron menor daño que sus progenitores; se encontró alta correlación entre el porcentaje de infestación (porcentaje de plantas con daño) y el porcentaje de intensidad de infestación (porcentaje de entrenudos afectados). La fertilización aumentó de manera significativa la producción de grano y semilla y se encontró como tendencia general que los genotipos con menor daño presentaron alta producción.

The hybrids lCA H-211 and ICA H- 260 presented a lower damage than its progenitors; it was found a high correlation between the infestation percentage (plants percent with damage) and percentaje of infestation intensity (percentage of infesteds internodes). Fertilization increased in a significant way grain and seed production. It was found as a general tendency that genotypes with less damage was high yield.
