Lo barroco y lo real maravilloso en las crónicas Visión de América de Alejo Carpentier

Abstract

El presente trabajo teórico busca, primero, identificar las características generales de la crónica como género narrativo —más desde lo literario que desde lo periodístico—, así como la evolución de la misma en la primera mitad del siglo XX en Latinoamérica, para posteriormente, y ya teniendo en cuenta las particularidades que este tipo de textos presentan en el continente, analizar si los elementos estéticos de la narrativa del escritor cubano Alejo Carpentier —representados, principalmente, por lo real maravilloso y su lenguaje barroco— son reconocibles en su serie de crónicas titulada Visión de América (1947).

Abstract: The present theoretical work seeks, first, to identify general characteristics of the chronicle as a narrative genre —more from the literary than from the journalistic—, as well as the evolution of it in the first half of the 20th century in Latin America, for later, and already taking into account the particularities that this type of texts present in the continent, analyze if the aesthetic elements of the narrative of the Cuban writer Alejo Carpentier —represented, mainly, by the marvelous real and its Baroque language— are recognizable in his series of chronicles entitled Visión de América (1947).
