Decir Caribe: Reflejo de la III Cumbre Cuba–CARICOM en el periódico cubano Granma. Análisis del discurso.

Abstract

El término Caribe ha sido objeto de disímiles definiciones que vienen de las diferentes áreas del conocimiento como la antropología, la historia, el derecho, la geografía, la sociología y las ciencias políticas. A mediados de la década de los años noventa del siglo XX se introduce una definición sobre un Gran Caribe, asociada a la aparición de la Asociación de Estados del Caribe (AEC) fundada en 1994 dadas las demandas de los miembros de la Comunidad del Caribe (CARICOM) de interrelacionarse con otros estados independientes o no de la cuenca.El fenómeno de la integración se hace cada día más necesario para darles frente a las agresiones externas que afronta el área; pero, la integración caribeña debe verse hoy como un fenómeno y un proceso fundamentalmente comunicativo y a partir de este aspecto ser evaluado junto con sus elementos culturales, políticos, económicos, etc. El objetivo de la investigación que dio origen a este artículo es aplicar una metodología para los estudios de discurso sobre el Gran Caribe basados en las herramientas del Discurso Ideológico desarrollado por el teórico holandés Teun Van Dijk.

The term Caribbean has been subject of a sort of unlike definitions originated in different areas of knowledge just as anthropology, history, law, geography, sociology and political sciences. Around the middle of 90’s a definition of Greater Caribbean is introduced, linkedto the emergence of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS) founded in 1994, because of the demands of members of the members of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) procuring the interrelation with other states, independent or not, in the basin. The phenomenon of integration is emerging every day more strongly as an unavoidable subject when dealing with the external attacks that the region must challenge; however the Caribbean integration must be sensed today as a phenomenon and a process that is fundamentally a communicative one, a sight point from which the integration should be evaluated together with its cultural, political, and economic aspects, amongst others. The target of this research is to make use of a methodology to study the discourses related to the Greater Caribbean based on the tools of the Ideological Discourse as developed by the Dutch scholar Teun Van Dijk.
