dc.description.abstract | A taxonomic revision of Ceradenia L. E. Bishop is presented, a genus which is defi- ned by the presence of waxy glandular paraphyses in the receptacle, and the absence of hydathodes. In Colombia, the genus is represented by 24 species grouped in two subge- nera, Ceradenia (11 species) and Filicipecten L. E. Bishop (13 species). The species are found mainly in the Andean region, but also found in the Pacific region, in the mountainous areas of the Caribbean region and in the Serranía de La Macarena. The species are most common in Andean forests, although they can also be found in paramos, subparamos, and lowland rainforests, growing from sea level up to 4300 m, with their greatest con- centration above 1500 m. Some taxonomic and chorological novelties are reported: four species new to science, two new records, and the exclusion of C. spixiana from the flora of Colombia. In addition, the name of Grammitis curvata ssp. pearcei is elevated to spe- cies status. |
