La obra de teatro, está compuesta por diecisiete escenas, se desarrolla en una casa, en un apartamento, en un hogar de tiempo más o menos indefinido para el lector. En una ciudad intermedia, en una gran ciudad. Es urbana. La séptima escena anuncia un hecho de amplia inminencia. „Me voy‟, dice Mercedes. Se lo repite a H cinco veces. La crueldad se va anunciando.
