El primer capítulo describe y explica el fenómeno del ausentismo docente en Latinoamérica y Colombia; el segundo capítulo aborda el ausentismo docente en el departamento del Guaviare, identificando las principales causas, percepciones de los administradores de la educación en el departamento y las políticas frente al mismo y en el tercer capítulo, a partir de un enfoque cualitativo de corte social, se recogen las percepciones de docentes, directivos y estudiantes de las instituciones educativas Santander y Alfonso López Pumarejo, sobre las causas, consecuencias y estrategias frente al ausentismo docente, para luego contrastar dicha información con lo ocurrido en las grandes ciudades del país y Latinoamérica. A partir de los datos recolectados, se infiere que los motivos más frecuentes de inasistencia de los docentes están relacionados principalmente con problemas de salud, situaciones familiares y remisiones médicas a otras ciudades, donde los planes de contingencia y estrategias frente a dichas inasistencia en las instituciones objeto de estudio, son limitados y en muchos casos inexistentes o poco efectivos, provocando retrasos en el desarrollo de los aprendizajes previstos, dificultades en la organización de las clases y una menor preparación de los estudiantes para enfrentar evaluaciones internas y externas. (Texto tomado de la fuente)This research analyzes teacher absenteeism and its impact on student learning, taking as its object of study two educational institutions in San José del Guaviare, where it sought to identify the causes of this phenomenon and understand how it affects educational quality in a territory marked by armed conflict and where structural limitations have historically made it difficult to provide quality education. The first chapter describes and explains the phenomenon of teacher absenteeism in Latin America and Colombia; the second chapter addresses teacher absenteeism in the department of Guaviare, identifying the main causes, perceptions of education administrators in the department, and policies to address it; and in the third chapter, using a qualitative social approach, it gathers the perceptions of teachers, administrators, and students from the Santander and Alfonso López Pumarejo educational institutions on the causes, consequences, and strategies for addressing teacher absenteeism, and then contrasts this information with what has occurred in the country's large cities and in Latin America.
