Se describieron las medidas ecocardiográficas de la función diastólica y se determinó si existía asociación estadísticamente significativa entre la presencia de diabetes mellitus y la disfunción diastólica. Se analizaron 119 pacientes con disfunción diastólica y de estos 43 eran diabéticos (120 pacientes con DM 2 totales), se pudo establecer una asociación significativa (OR 2.16, IC 1,25-3.73) con una p 0.01. Se analizaron otros factores como peso, edad y la presencia de hipertensión arterial. Se concluyó que la presencia de diabetes mellitus es factor asociado significativamente a la disfunción diastólica incluso controlando variable confusora (HTA), así como también hubo relación con el peso y edades avanzadas.Abstract. A case-control study was performed including 476 patients of the IPS Instituto Sigandini Hospital Meissen, who underwent a complete echocardiographic study between 2014 and 2015. The echocardiographic measurements of diastolic function were described and it was determined whether there was a statistically significant association between diabetes mellitus and diastolic dysfunction. There were 119 patients with diastolic dysfunction and 43 of them were diabetic (for a total of 120 patients with DM 2). A significant statistical association was established (OR 2.16; CI 1,25-3.73) with a p-value of 0.01. Other factors such as weight, age and arterial hypertension were analyzed.
