Se introduce el documento con un análisis historiográfico acerca de la producción escrita sobre la guerra del M-19 y se revisa el contexto social, político y económico de las décadas del setenta y del ochenta. Desde la teoría de la guerra se estudian dos modelos de guerra predominantes: el insurreccional y el de guerra popular y prolongada (GPP), también dos métodos que fueron predominantes en el accionar del M-19, el método de guerra urbana y el método foquista. Se describen las tácticas y estrategias utilizadas por esta guerrilla y se analizan los influjos uruguayos y argentinos que tuvo esta organización insurgente. Luego se caracterizan las fases de su guerra revolucionaria y se destacan las operaciones más representativas de su accionar. Se concluye analizando el modelo insurreccional, desde el populismo armado que empleó el M-19.Abstract. In this thesis we review the model of war, the strategies and tactics deployed by the M-19 guerrilla group in Colombia, between the years of 1974 and 1989. This document is introduced with a historiographical analysis of the written production about the war on M-19 and reviews the social, political and economic Colombian development of the seventies and eighties. Since the war theory explores two dominant models of war: the insurrection and popular war and prolonged (GPP), also two methods that were prevalent in the actions of M-19, the method of urban warfare and foquista method. It describes the tactics and strategies used by the guerrillas and analyzes the Uruguayan and Argentine influences that had this insurgent organization. Then we characterize the stages of revolutionary war and highlight the most representative operations of their actions.
