La noción de justicia en Adam Smith y Amartya Sen

Abstract

La teoría de la elección racional, TER, es insuficiente como explicación del comportamiento económico, incluso en su versión extendida (Becker). La TER se fundamenta en la maximización del interés-propio cómo criterio de elección y atribuye su origen al pensamiento de Adam Smith. Amartya Sen ha sido un fuerte crítico de este modelo de comportamiento tradicionalmente usado en economía. Sen sostiene que se puede ir más allá de la maximización del interés-propio como modelo de comportamiento y enriquecerlo incluyendo diversos valores sociales que permitan plantear una noción de justicia pertinente desde la economía. Tal noción de justicia, dice Sen, también está fundamentada en el pensamiento de Smith. The RCT is based on maximizing self-interest as a criterion of choice and attributes its origin to the thought of Adam Smith. Amartya Sen has been a strong critic of this pattern traditionally used in economics. Sen argues that one can go beyond self-interest maximization as a role model and enrich social values including various possible raise a notion of justice relevant from the economics. Such a notion of justice, says Sen, is also based on the thought of Smith. Beyond the statement of Sen, we are interested in investigating the notion of justice itself Smith supports the proposed Sen.
