Nutrición intragástrica en pancreatitis aguda severa en el Hospital Universitario de la Samaritana: un estudio piloto – año 2012.

Abstract

La pancreatitis es una entidad que aumenta los requerimientos nutricionales del paciente. La nutrición enteral intra gástrica aparece como alternativa a la terapia nutricional enteral avanzada y la nutrición parenteral en pancreatitis aguda severa; Este estudio pretende describir la seguridad y tolerancia en una serie de pacientes con pancreatitis aguda severa sometidos a nutrición intragastrica Se encontro que La mayoría fueron mujeres (90%) y presentaron una edad media de 60.4 años (DE=14.36). En 7 (70%) de los pacientes se consideró la terapia intra gástrica como exitosa, en ellos el tiempo promedio en alcanzar una tolerancia adecuada de por lo menos el 60% del objetivo nutricional fue de 2.33 días (DE=0.66) a un promedio del objetivo de 76.71% (DE=5.19%) de las calorías propuestas como meta. Los resultados del estudio aportan la evidencia inicial sobre la seguridad y viabilidad de la ruta gástrica del soporte metabolico en la pancreatitis severa de origen biliar.

Abstract. Pancreatitis it´s disease that increases the nutritional needs of any given patient. Gastric nutrition appears as a new alternative to the old enteral nutritional and the forgotten parenteral nutrition in acute severe pancreatitis; This study pretends to describe the safety and tolerance of a series of patients with severe acute pancreatitis who where given gastric nutrition. We found that most of the patients where women (90%), with a median age of 60.4 years (SD=14.36). In 7 patients, the intra gastric therapy was successful. In these patients, the time needed to achieve an adequate tolerance was 2,3 days (SD=0.66), with an average from the objective of 76.71% (SD=5.19%) of the proposed calories. The results of the study give the initial evidence regarding safety and viability of the gastric route of the metabolic support in severe acute pancreatitis.
