En la ciudad de Santa Fe de Bogotá durante la Colonia, la caridad de las gentes y la tutela estatal a través de la Casa de los Niños Expósitos primero y luego Hospicio real, fueron las principales estrategias de acogida de los recién nacidos abandonados. El artículo se refiere a los motivos del abandono y a las reacciones ritualizadas de la sociedad santafereña ante el mismo, así como también, a los cambios en la normatividad y en su atención institucionalizada desde el siglo XVII hasta la primera década del XIX.Summary
Abstract: In the city of Santa Fe de Bogotá, at the time of the Colony, the people's charity and the state's shelter, first through the foundling Children' House, and second through the Royal hospice (orphanage), were the main strategies for treatment of abandoned newborns.
