Abstract

In his paintings of fishes and fishermen, Pablo Taricuarima portrays the daily triumphs and resignations of his mother, father, brothers and uncles, a family of the Cocama people whose life comes and flows with the colors of Amazonian rivers. In his spatial interventions, he transports fishing technologies to the city and covers with nets, nests, shells and traps the squares and other few empty spaces left between the building and the cement.

En sus pinturas de pescados y pescadores, Pablo Taricuarima, retrata los triunfos y las resignaciones cotidianas de su madre, padre, hermanos y tíos, una familia del pueblo cocama cuya vida proviene y fluye con los colores de los ríos amazónicos. En sus intervenciones espaciales, transporta las tecnologías de la pesca a la ciudad y cubre con redes, nidos, caracoles y trampas las plazas y los pocos espacios vacíos disponibles entre los edificios y el cemento.
