Abstract. The main purpose of this research is to explore, identify and analyze which are the temporality experiences for four young students at a vocational-technical institute in the city of Bogota, Colombia. The goal is to identify, know and explain through the ethnographic and life stories methods, which is the temporality experience that promotes the vocational-technical institute for these young students. In addition, this research inquires how they conceive, experiment and live time. Finally, it discusses, based on social timing and temporality theory, the future possibilities or expectation horizons suggested by the vocational-technical institute for their students. The argument conducted throughout this project is that the relationship these young students establish with time cannot be understood under the linear perspective of time. This relation could be explained from the figure of the moment timing or instant timing. One of the conclusions reached with this research is that it is not possible to think social timing from the linear perspective. It is necessary to re-think and to appeal to new ways of understanding time.Palabras clave
