Summary
Abstract. Objective: To promote the management and maintenance of self-care in patients with Heart Failure, taking into account the specific theory of self-care for CF. Methodology: Based on the Logical Framework, a fixed manual of a session and a mobile one of two sessions with interventions in natural environment (home) and hospital were realized and with participants who were with compensation of the disease. Four fundamental concepts of the theory were developed: ability, knowledge, experience and belief, considering mental simulation and decision making as the main axis of evaluation to determine the degree of self-care that the participants acquired and observe behaviors that maintain physiological stability "Maintenance" and response to symptoms when they are identified and recognized "management". Results: A total of 3 patients were involved, one in a natural setting (home) and two in a hospital environment; It was identified that the participants did not have precise knowledge about the disease and the impact on their health; The symptom most recognized by the participants was edema of the feet. Strengthened experience in decision making for symptom management. In addition, effective feedback was executed through mental simulation with real cases. Likewise, beliefs were strengthened and factors that influence the decompensation of heart failure were found. Meanwhile, it was identified that the patients respond to the interventions performed, however, more intervention time is needed to obtain follow-up results. Keywords
