Summary
Abtract This work is about the social representations on physical activity on a group of operators from a mass passenger transport company in Bogota city and seeks to identify and understand the nature of the elements that organize and structure such representation, assuming that these are structures of the behaviors and knowledge that the persons incorporate and express as information, beliefs and attitudes. Social representation is considered essentially as a collective construction in which historical, sociological and ideological conditions mark the collective memory and stablishes the base of the normative dimension in the speech and the communication. This approach considers the social representations as a reflection of the group identity and/also an alternative identity as an expression of logical resistance. Methodologically, this work inquired, through the instrument of recollection of information in this case the semi-structured interviews of the social representations around a physical activity category in relation health, work, wellness and body, in two groups of employees identify as active and non-active, seeks to characterize their social representations and from there point the elements that allows a more assertive interaction around the proposals of promotion on physical activity in groups of employees. The results show similar social representations on both groups, in which is evident the importance of the speech in the physical activity and in health relation, which is related with a biological, functional, instrumental and body beauty vision, this one last, focused in the attainments of universal pre-stablished beauty standards which emphasizes the slenderness , the athletic body and the muscular development; a predominance of individual accountability speech from the person in relation with his or hers health situation that ends demotivating the physical activity practice and reduced vision of the relation physical activity-wellness, in terms of leisure, interpersonal relationships, joy, among others. Both groups shows a clear differentiation between the link of physical activity and work; for the active group physical activity is a device to increase productivity while for the non-active group, work limits physical activity as well as it doesn´t provide objective conditions for its practice. Keywords
