La familia Batrachoididae cuenta con cuatro subfamilias, 23 géneros y 83 especies en todo el mundo, de las cuales quince están presentes en aguas colombianas. La especie Daector gerringi, endémica en el Pacífico oriental colombiano, se ha registrado en el departamento del Chocó, específicamente en los ríos San Juan, Baudó y recientemente en el departamento del Valle del Cauca en bahía Málaga. Este trabajo documenta el primer registro para la especie en la bahía de Buenaventura, Valle del Cauca, y representa el récord de talla para la especie.Summary
The Batrachoididae family has three subfamilies, 23 genera and approximately 83 species around the world, of which fifteen are present in Colombian waters. The species Daector gerringi, endemic to the Colombian Eastern Pacific, has been reported in the department of Chocó, specifically in the rivers San Juan, Baudó and recently in the department of Valle del Cauca in Bahia Malaga. This work documents the first register for the species in the Buenaventura Bay, Valle del Cauca, and represents the record size for the species.Keywords
