From a strictly ethno-cultural view of Half and Half or Fifty-Fifties of San Andres in the conflict between native islanders and "pañas" occupy an intermediate or gap between these two ethnic groups faced. Through analysis of discourses and perceptions of different cultural groups present in the area reviews the status of new subjects hybridized of the islands, for purposes of discussion about who are part of Raizal ethnicity. In the context of interethnic relations in the context of the Wider Caribbean, there are forms of relationship expressed in various types of marriages that create new hybrid subject, which is causing problems when you choose to have an essentialist, ethnocentric discourse free of homogeneous mixtures. Despite the constancy and continuity of the processes of hybridization on the island and the many origins of ethnic Raizal, there are different scenarios where Half and Half or Fifty-Fifties have been excluded subjects become invisible to the inside of the ethnic Raizal. However, identifying scenarios where Half and Half or Fifty-Fifties have been able to integrate and contribute to the coexistence in the country, giving way to recognition and formation of an insular society based on multiculturalism. |
