INTRODUCTION The reconstruction of the torn ACL (anterior cruiciate ligament) is widely performed with different reconstruction techniques, with an interest in the evaluation of the proper position and angulation of the reconstructed ACL. In differents studies, the angulation reported of the ACL in the coronal plane was 63° - 76° in healthy and post op patients. This study pretends to evaluate the angulation of the ACL in the coronal plane in measurements make in vivo and under arthroscopy. METHODOLOGY This is an individual descriptive case series, which included 47 patients that fulfilled inclusion criteria, obtaining intra-surgical images of the ACL under arthroscopy with a lens of 0° of angulation through trans patellar portal and lens of 30° of angulation through anterolateral portal. The measurements were performed in this images and a statistical analysis was performed for different variables. RESULTS In the measurement of the ACL under arthroscopy with the 30° lens had a mean of 57.54° and with lens of 0° had a mean of 71°, obtaining a constant angulation and normal distribution, independently of gender, laterality and age. CONCLUSIONS The angle of positioning the ACL is constant independently of gender and laterality of knee, according to the findings of the study, the ACL should maintain an ideal angulation of 71.8° with the lens of 0° through trans patellar portal or a 57.5° with the 30° lens through anterolateral portal.
