Background: It has been identified in nursing professionals knowledge deficit in the main biomedical areas, because of this, nurses in their professional practice are limited in confidence and security to integrate knowledge of biomedical sciences with clinical practice, which It can be configured as a clear obstacle to impart quality care. Objective: To explore the influence of biomedical sciences in the professional practice of nursing and Identify the factors that favor or limit the integration between biomedical sciences and the practice of nursing professionals. Methodology: The databases were used: Science Direct, Academic Search Complete, Pubmed, Scopus, Virtual Health Library, Dynamed, Medline Complete, Nursing and Allied Health Database and Redalyc based on articles published in Spanish, English, Portuguese, Italian and German since January 2008 and January 2019, the articles were evaluated with the Strobe and Caspe tools. Results: 13 provenance articles were included in the Asia, Oceania and Europe continents in the countries: Malaysia, Australia and the United Kingdom, which generated three main themes: Biomedical Sciences and Clinical Practice, Biomedical Sciences and the Nursing Curriculum, Prospects for Students and teachers. Conclusions: Knowledge in the biomedical sciences provides the nursing professional with multiple benefits related to the adequacy of the role; The acquisition of such knowledge could be subject to variables corresponding to clinical practice, teachers and even the curriculum.
