Abstract This research work analyses how have been the land use of the archipelago of San Andrés, Providence and Santa Catalina, in particular the island of San Andres. From geography, is takes the concepts of space, territory and territoriality to analyze those traits geographical, historical and socio-environmental that have characterized the island of San Andres have always, and that have been unknown in the current spatial planning directed by the State. This has led to hand planned homogeneously the island, and in general the territories coastal and marine, without taking into account their environmental from distinguishing features of a dynamic between the sea and the land, constituting territories scenically unique and beautiful, as highly fragile by any type of natural and anthropogenic pressure. On the other hand, extend the concept of land use from social practices developed in coastal and marine areas, interlinked with that same island dynamic. A geographical view of the territorial order in the Archipelago of San Andrés, Providence and Santa Catalina is to think about insular, coastal and marine territories according to their socioenvironmental dynamics based on the existence of a historical roots and socio-cultural appropriation of the sea. This must be the main premise for the territorial organization of these spaces, the Maritoriality.Palabras clave
