In this investigation we show how the application of interferometry in seismic P-wave records allows to attenuate the temporal effects generated by the topography and thickness of the weathered layer. By cross-correlation between the original wave field and a smoothed version of it —in the tau-p and radial domains— we create a filter that contains the information of these temporal shifts. We applied the method of interferometry in a synthetic seismogram and in a 2D seismic line acquired in the Eastern Plains basin, in both registers we obtained stacked seismic sections that showed areas with better continuity and coherence of the reflectors, compared to stacks with corrections Conventional static The use of this technique manages to contribute to the improvement of the image, particularly when the characteristics of the weathered layer do not correspond to a model consisting of surface or the noise content in the signal makes it impossible to chop first arrivals and as a consequence static corrections fail. However, the method showed limitations when modifying the content of amplitudes in the records with errors of up to 18.6 % in synthetic data and 29.0 % in real data.Palabras clave
