In this project, the behavior of fracture toughness and corrosion resistance of three alloys Al-Cu-Si, Al-Mg-Si, Al-Si used in aircraft structures was evaluated, taking as variables material type, laminate direction and aging temperature. It was accomplished a precipitation heat treatment at three different temperatures according to the laminate direction for each one of the three materials, to evaluate the effect of microstructure on the fracture toughness and corrosion resistance. As part of the analysis process, specimens under standard E399 and SENB configuration were fabricated, assembly for precracking was determined; the values of fracture toughness were calculated in terms of KIC, and Jelastic ,Jplastic. The specimens were fatigue precracking and bent precracking for fracture toughness test, with the bending process was possible obtain various bending fracture surfaces that should be classified and evaluated microscopically and macroscopically. Each alloy was characterized by analysis of chemical composition, hardness, and metallography.Palabras clave
