“They paint everything that the eye can see as it sees it. They paint what they see, we what we see ”. Orhan pamuk To understand the gaze, from that distant and thin line of not seeing; where gestures, perceiving, feeling and the interest in how a person with this condition feels in front of the visual arts, begin to be a fundamental part of this methodological investigation; where an integration is made between your exterior environment and your interior sensations. The darkness, fear, anguish, losing the perception of time and space that one inhabits, feeling lost in that place that is everyday and that becomes something enormous and infinite; They are things that appear when the sense of sight is blocked for a few minutes, each sound becomes sharper, the "noises" are understood that are not noticeable on a day-to-day basis or with that intensity; the sense of smell, perceives even the slightest smell of that place, even if it is not fully identified; the hands begin to be that direct contact, in front of what is being faced, those materials feel even the smallest pore, all this is discovered by those hands; those different textures that can be understood in a more faithful way. The textures, sounds and smells are in charge of recalling a space or simply creating a new one, which begin to be filled with a strong emotional charge, since each experience allows the body to generate a new disposition and way of understanding that world. The gaze is transformed, guided, educated or, on many occasions, it is stopped, at the moment in which this happens, a series of dimensions or spectra of vision begin to appear, which allow those perceptions that it encounters on a daily basis to sharpen . Many times it is important to blur that environment where you live, so that you can capture that "essence" of the things you encounter, that need that revelation to those who look at them, you need a variation given between the obvious in the look and a revelation in perception. When the gaze is cloudy or in that semi-darkness, the body cannot see beyond what it has in front of it; and that is why “not seeing” begins to show itself as a power, a power that appears behind the idea of what we see when we see. To those who are concerned with that look, those unknowns, those darkness and its darkness, let me tell you that all this is a way of understanding that world in which we inhabit, in relation to this phenomenon of images.Palabras clave
