The masculine and dance aimed to investigate how men approach, experience and live dance, being traversed by the condition of masculinity inherent in the social construction of the body, and how this ends up defining and sometimes affecting the body work in my students' dances. Masculinity was and will continue to be an ideal of the duty to be a man, a prototype to continue to be taught from home and replicated in each place and context through which it travels, with rules to be met, certain characteristics that define it, certain privileges that are granted, and a price that must be paid by those of us who are unconsciously inserted in it, such as, for example, the ways in which we approach activities that involve confrontation with the body, in the case of dance, and personal conflicts and questions that from there are derived, being the flight, the rejection or the distancing, the common decision taken by men. However, just as you learn to be a man, it is possible to unlearn, deconstruct and transform it, to give way to a new and different configuration as a social subject, to a new masculinity that moves away from cultural mandates and heteronormative structures, and goes further according to the ways we want to inhabit the body.Palabras clave
