dc.description.abstract | El presente estudio evalúa el efecto de la Política de Articulación de la educación media con la educación superior sobre la delincuencia en la ciudad de Bogotá. Explica como un aumento del capital humano, medido como un aumento en las horas de escolarización, puede tener efectos positivos en la disminución del crimen. Basado en un modelo de diferencias en diferencias y con información a nivel Unidades de Planeamiento Zonal (UPZ), se encuentra que el aumento del capital humano a través de la política pudo reducir la tasa de delitos de hurto a personas y lesiones personales por cada cien mil habitantes en un 13% en aquellas UPZ en las que al menos un colegio se acogió a la Política de Articulación de la educación media. |
dc.description.abstract | This study assesses the Política de Articulación effects on medium and high-level education regarding crime in Bogotá city. It explains how an increase of human capital, understood as an increase in formal schooling hours, may have positive effects for declining crime rates. Based on a differences in differences model with information about zonal planning units (UPZ by its acronym in Spanish), it finds that the increasing of human capital through the policy was able to reduce crime rates of theft and personal per each one hundred thousand inhabitants by 13% in every UPZ that at least one school adopted the Política de Articulación. |
