dc.description.abstractDance as a physical discipline that involves complex movements and requires an excellent physical condition, that is why it has been classified as a high-risk activity that make the dancers susceptible to a constant injury risk, however, they do not receive adequate care and prevention. The interest in studying this phenomenon has grown worldwide, but in our country there is little information on this subject. An analytical cross-sectional study was developed using a structured questionnaire that was applied to a representative sample of dancers from Bogotá, 405 dancers participated, of which 64.2% reported the presence of injury in the last 12 months, ballet is the dance with the highest prevalence (75%). The most compromised body segment is the knee (25.9%) and overuse was the most evidenced injury mechanism (70%). It was considered that the group corresponding to folklore, Afro and traditional dances presents a possible risk factor for developing injuries (adjusted OR 2.1 95% CI 1.11-3.85), and the number of hours of practice per week between 20 and 25 could constitute a possible protective factor (adjusted OR 0.32 95% CI 0.12-0.85). Only 37.5% have had an adequate rehabilitation process and 72% still present related symptoms.
dc.description.abstractLa danza como disciplina física implica una serie de movimientos complejos y una excelente condición física en general, por lo que ha sido catalogada como una actividad de alto riesgo para presentar lesiones, sin embargo, los bailarines no reciben una adecuada asistencia en cuanto a su manejo y prevención. A nivel mundial ha crecido el interés en estudiar este fenómeno, pero en nuestro país existe mínima información sobre este tema. Se desarrolló un estudio transversal analítico en el que se aplicó un cuestionario estructurado a una muestra representativa de bailarines de Bogotá en el que, de un total de 405 bailarines, se reportó en el 64,2% la presencia de lesión en los últimos 12 meses, siendo el ballet la danza con mayor prevalencia (75%). El segmento corporal más comprometido es la rodilla (25,9%) y el sobreuso fue el mecanismo de lesión más evidenciado (70%). Se consideró que el grupo correspondiente a folclore, afro y danzas tradicionales presenta un posible factor de riesgo para presentar lesiones (OR ajustado 2,1 IC95% 1,11-3,85), así como el número de horas de práctica a la semana entre 20 y 25 podría constituir un posible factor protector (OR ajustado 0,32 IC95% 0,12-0,85). Tan solo el 37,5% ha tenido un proceso de rehabilitación adecuado y el 72% en la actualidad aún presenta síntomas relacionados
