dc.description.abstract | The use of mathematical models made it possible to define critical points for the growth and commercial production of brown egg layers. The Gompertz model showed parameters characterized by their precision and accuracy. The maturation rate was 0.02 %/day, which was inversely related to adult body weight. The maximum growth rate (14.8-17.3 g/d) was reached between 8 and 10 weeks of age and the adult body weight at 35 weeks of age. The mathematical model for production was the Yang logistic model with a definition of the inflection point at 50% of the production peak (parameter d of the model) at 21 days of the beginning of laying cycle, hen/day production (%) at peak (96.5%, 52 days of production) and the rate of decline until the end of the life cycle was 0.0005 eggs/hen/day. The maximum growth rate was related to a higher production at the beginning of the laying, the age at 50% of production, the number of hen housed eggs and the cumulative egg mass (30 and 50 weeks of age). The theta value was associated with the cumulative egg mass production and the number of hen housed eggs during the laying cycle. Maximizing body weight and flock uniformities during growth (3, 8, 9, 12 and 16 weeks) produced effects on: age at sexual maturity, age at both 50% and peak production, peak production (%) and the number of hen housed eggs (30, 50 and 80 weeks of age). Feed conversion at week 8 was associated with cumulative egg mass per hen housed (30 and 50 weeks of age). |
