Studies from the 1990s of the Pleiades cluster with an age of ~125 Myr report a connection between the observed dispersion and rotation. Likewise, more recent works record it in younger clusters and associations such as NGC 2264, β Pic, IC 2602 and α Per. Consequently, stellar rotation has become a key element in understanding this phenomenon. This thesis explores the relationship between lithium content and stellar rotation during very early evolutionary stages in the life of stars, using 167 high-resolution (R ~ 34000) Hectochelle spectroscopic observations on the region of the σ Ori cluster with an age of ~3 Myr. Adopting the Fourier cross-correlation technique, projected rotational velocities (vsini) are determined. Then in a EW(Li)-Teff plane, vsini values are compared with Li I λ6708 equivalent widths found in the literature. Thanks to the popularity of the cluster because of its youth, proximity, very low redness, and a wide range of masses, a great deal of information about it is available in the literature. For this reason, it was decided to include the parameters: binary systems and disc evolutionary stages, into the lithium-rotation analysis. These parameters have also been considered to explain the dispersion of lithium abundances. What appears to be a triple correlation between disc type, rotation, and lithium depletion, is noted in the range of surface temperatures from 4100 to 4900 K (~ 0.55-0.72 M o). This work constitutes to date the most extensive and with highest resolution spectroscopic characterization of the σ Ori cluster stellar rotation. It also represents the fi rst attempt to study the lithium-rotation connection at 3 Myr, which is a crucial age in the life of young stars because beginnings of protoplanetary disc evolution become evident, as well as lithium depletion.
