dc.description.abstract | La división de mantenimiento -Flota 320- garantiza la disponibilidad de los camiones Hitachi EH5000 para el transporte continuo de material inerte en La Mina (Depto. La Guajira). Esta actividad se ha convertido en un verdadero desafío debido al frecuente agrietamiento de los elementos estructurales denominados “Housing”, los cuales presentaron siete fallas catastróficas en el periodo 2009–2011. Tras comprender la filosofía de junta de barras tensoras y al recrear mediante análisis FEM, el ciclo de operación de los camiones mineros: Carga -Transporte -Ciclo de volcado -Retorno -Posicionamiento, se logró determinar cómo la fractura de barras tensoras altera el nivel de esfuerzos en distintas zonas del “Housing”; y a su vez, cómo afecta la vida a fatiga utilizando los criterios del estándar BS 7608, dos espectros de carga (monitoreado y teórico) y la teoría del daño acumulado Palmgren-Miner. Estos resultados fueron comparados con el análisis de falla para tres componentes fallados (“Housing”, Barras tensoras y Tornillo); donde se logró determinar que experimentaron falla por fatiga. Finalmente, se logró probar que la contribución de algunos parámetros adversos de diseño y fabricación, junto a políticas de operación y mantenimiento poco estrictas; disminuyen gradualmente la vida a fatiga, fracturando los “Housing” a un ritmo cada vez más acelerado. dc.description.abstract | Maintenance division -Fleet 320- It guarantees the availability of Hitachi EH5000 mining dump trucks for continuous transport of inert material in La Mina (La Guajira). This activity has become in a true big challenge due to the frequent cracking of the structural element called “Housing”, which presented seven catastrophic failures in the period 2009-2011. After understanding the mechanical philosophy joint of the tie rods and recreating through FEM analysis the operating cycle of mining trucks: Loading – Transport – Dump cycle – Return – Positioning. It was possible to determine how the fracture of the tension tie rods alters the stress level in different areas of the “Housing”; thus, how it affects the fatigue life using the criteria of BS 7608 standard, two load spectra (monitored and theoretical) and the Palmgren-Miner accumulated damage theory. These results were compared with the failure analysis from three failed components (“Housing”, tension tie rod and bolt); where it was possible to determine that they experienced fatigue failure. Finally, it was possible to prove that the contribution of some adverse design and manufacture parameters, together with lax operation and maintenance policies; gradually decrease fatigue life and generate “Housing” fracture at an ever-accelerating rate. |
