This research arises from the questions that remained after the shocking experience of reading the graphic novel “Satanás” (Mendoza and Olano, 2018). With the goal of elucidating the process of meaning production of the reading of this work of art literary work, it was carried out an exploration of the research background that allowed to understand the need to study graphic novels based on literary texts from a textual and interdisciplinary perspective, which gives openness to the application of an innovative approach for the understanding and analysis of this type of texts. To that extent, it was found in the academic offer of the Master's Degree in Communication and Media, the research line and the seminar Text Theory and Textual Analysis with emphasis on the approach developed by the Spanish researcher Jesús González Requena, a proposal that put together the field of analysis where the semiotic perspective in link with the theory of the subject and the theory of desire, explain the aesthetic experience of the artistic text. Thus, using some concepts and methodological strategies of the theory and textual analysis such as subjective experience, enunciation, reading, writing, flashpoint, spelling, tutor sense, among other aspects related to the story, it was concluded that the graphic novel Satanás (Mendoza and Olano, 2018) generates a reading experience marked by the scopic enjoyment in which the inversion of the mythical story and the rawness of the images that exhibit the real of death and violence on bodies, confront the reader with different facets of the sinister. Finally, the writing of the analysis leads to a reflection on the recognition and valuation of the reader attracted by violence within the framework of the current iconosphere and the convergence of media where the visual image becomes a central element in contemporary texts.Palabras clave
