Over time, the electricity sector has evolved, in such a way that it faces new problems related to the growing demand for energy, the insertion of consumers as an active part of the electrical system and other factors that have forced the electrical network to be modified in such a way that it is capable of providing an affordable, effective, clean, reliable and efficient service. In this sense, the concept of Smart Grid was born and within it the Advanced Measurement Infrastructure (AMI), with which the data management and information management systems have greater responsibility when facing increasingly large and complex databases. Faced with these new challenges inside the Colombian electricity sector, the agent Independent Data and Information Managers (GIDI) appear, who enter the market facing these new commitments. In the absence of a national registry that makes it possible to clearly define and identify the functions of the GIDI within the provision of electricity service in Colombia, through this thesis the objective is to analyze from international perspectives, the dynamics of systems and the Canvas business model, how to potentiate the insertion of GIDI agents within the Colombian electricity market, through the implementation of three types of demand response programs in the residential sector, reflecting that direct load control, DLC as a business model represents an increase of up to 62% in the creation of new GIDI companies, establishing itself as the best business proposal that allows massification of these agents in the energy market. Keywords
