In this article the justice palaces of Bogotá are analizedfrom their perspective of public buildings. The representativeduties are observed from the relation betweenarchitecture and institutions and the significance thatsociety has constructed around them. In accordance tothe symbolic meaning that these buildings acquire, asstate symbols of power, this study takes into account thesearch for an ideal representation and the performancethat is carried out in a specific context.Resumen
A partir de la reflexión sobre el edificio público, se estudian los Palacios de Justicia de Bogotá. Dentro del marco de la relación entre arquitectura e instituciones, se explora su función representativa y el significado que de ellos ha construido la sociedad; de acuerdo con el cometido simbólico que se les ha impuesto de erigirse como símbolos del poder estatal, se indaga en la intención de alcanzar un ideal de representación y, en contraste, cómo se lleva a cabo su realización acorde con el contexto específico en el que tienen lugar.Palabras clave
