Abstract The growth of the railways in Colombia, in the first half of the 20th century, was important for the development in the economic, social and cultural sectors of the country and contributed to the creation of new settlements, in addition to boosting the called "Cultura del Veraneo" in the regions close to the capital, such as Cachipay, El Ocaso and La Esperanza. As in the rest of the country, the influence in this region was decisive for their development and produced an important infrastructure that still remains, which, together with the natural heritage, through this work it seeks to recover and conserve. Taking into account the territorial nature of the rail project, it was considered important to involve the geography to understand the relationships of man with his environment and therefore I used the study of the landscape units for the recognition and valuation of the cultural landscape. Based on this, I formulate guidelines and strategies for the future management of the cultural landscape, suggesting projects seed as an instrument to solve certain problems identified in the landscape and allow, at the same time, the recovery and conservation of the heritage study.Palabras clave
