In this research paper examines the connections that the young Nietzsche establishes between philosophy, health and disease in one of his unpublished works from his period as a teacher at the University of Basel entitled Philosophy in the Tragic Age of the Greeks (1873). Based on this unpublished work, an attempt is made to carry out an examination of what Nietzsche understands in this paper as "disease of culture" and "health of culture" to, from there, understand how philosophy is a prophylactic therapy that It seeks to protect the cultural health of a healthy folk and not a curative therapy for the disease of culture. Such an examination will make it possible to establish a connection between philosophy and culture, so that the relationship that the philosopher establishes as an instrument of culture can maintain the unity of style, that is the culture, of a folk or dilute it depending on the way in which it is related with the "impulse to know" of that folk, either by dominating it and setting limits on it, or by abandoning itself to an excess of knowledge that makes the impulse of knowledge unstoppable. This will lead our discussion to address Nietzsche's understanding of pre-Platonic philosophers as "doctors of culture" who seek to protect the unity of style of their folk. Which in turn will allow us to understand how philosophy is a therapy of knowledge that seeks to keep it within the just limits of unity of culture. Keywords
