Being and time has traditionally been understood as an analysis of human existence erected as the entity that “projects” being in general, and in this has also been seen the main failure that would explain its incompleteness. The emphasis on the existence of the 1927 treatise would be precisely what prevents Heidegger from posing the question of being, falling back on a philosophy of subjectivity that would only be overcome in his thought after the “turn” of the 1930s. Nevertheless, Heidegger always rejected such a reading, warning of the potential existentialist misunderstandings to which it could lead and emphasizing the importance of understanding the existential analytic in the light of the question of being as the guiding thread, both of the “fundamental ontology” of Being and Time, as well as the later “onto-historical thinking of being”. The present research develops an anticipatory-retrospective reading whose purpose is to elucidate, in the light of the question of being, the key concept of Being and time: Dasein, that “entity that we are ourselves”. Far from restricting himself to the concrete individuality within the world, Heidegger conceives this concept in all its ontological breadth, with the purpose of capturing the deepest dynamism of the reference of being (Bezug des Seins). Heidegger speaks of the individual Dasein, with the same naturalness with which he refers more generally in his work of “our Dasein”, the “Dasein of the peoples” or the “primitive Dasein”, but under this apparent ambivalence, hides the most original phenomenon to which Being and time really points, namely: to maintain standing the significant opening of being, which occurs as “play of life” and “free configuration of the world”. Thus, it is argued that the 1927 treatise, far from being a relapse into the philosophy of subjectivity, is a displacement of the latter towards the original source of our mode of being. For Heidegger, we are not the rational animal, the thing with a soul or the representing subject, but neither are we simply a self-made individuality in the one world. More simply and elementally, we are a continuous effort to hold up that sphere in which things can appear as themselves, a sphere which does not belong to us, but which is addressed to us beforehand as a matter. Keywords
