Abstract
The discussion that arises from the question formulated around the relationship of the discipline of History with the Present, is part of an academic debate that questions the foundations of the discipline itself. This debate arises when the classic categories and tools of History are already limited for the understanding of the historical changes that have taken place in the last decades, and which continue to happen at an ever-increasing speed. This thesis is part of this debate, insofar as it is based on the certainty that it is not only within the discipline that its own critique must take place, but that it is precisely the new forms of experience and the configuration of human realities that are leading history to think of other hermeneutical frameworks for the interpretation and understanding of the present. This opens up the possibility of dialogue between History and other knowledge and other disciplines, especially philosophy. Through the title "The Historical Dimension of the Present. The hermeneutics of the present in History" not only expresses the fundamental problematic but also guides the argumentative unfolding of the thesis, which has always had as its main objective to situate the problem of the Present within History. "Historical Dimension" does not correspond to a historiographic school nor does it allude to a legitimized field of knowledge, but is inscribed in the intentionality of expanding the frontiers of interpretation and understanding of the Present; and "hermeneutics", in the subtitle, indicates both the problematization of some forms in which the Present has been approached and the search for other forms of historical analysis that may be useful to the discipline of History.Palabras clave
