| dc.description.abstract | El sector de la construcción se enfrenta al desafío de encontrar soluciones sostenibles para optimizar el consumo de recursos y mitigar las emisiones de gases de efecto invernadero en cada etapa de construcción. La economía circular (EC) ha surgido como una opción prometedora debido a su capacidad para cerrar los ciclos de los materiales a lo largo del ciclo de vida de un edificio. A pesar de su importancia, la aplicación de la EC en el sector de la construcción es limitada, y ha sido un campo poco explorado hasta el momento (Van Stijn & Gruis, 2019). El propósito de esta investigación es evaluar cómo la adopción de prácticas de EC puede contribuir a mejorar la competitividad de las empresas de construcción en Bogotá. El enfoque principal es comprender cómo la implementación de estrategias de EC puede beneficiar a estas empresas, tanto en términos de su posición en el mercado como en su eficiencia económica. Esto implica la identificación de soluciones para la reutilización y el reciclaje de residuos, la evaluación del impacto ambiental de estas prácticas y la determinación de cómo pueden contribuir a la reducción de costos, lo que, a su vez, mejoraría la competitividad de estas empresas. | dc.description.abstract | The construction sector is facing the challenge of finding sustainable solutions to optimize resource consumption, reduce energy demand, and mitigate greenhouse gas emissions at each stage of construction. The circular economy (CE) has emerged as a promising option due to its ability to close material loops throughout the life cycle of the buildings. Despite its relevance, the application of the circular economy in the construction sector is limited and has been an underexplored field thus far (Van Stijn & Gruis, 2019). The purpose of this research is to assess how the adoption of circular economy practices can contribute to improving the competitiveness of construction companies in Bogotá. The main purpose is to understand how the implementation of circular economy strategies can benefit those companies in terms of their market position and economic efficiency. This involves identifying solutions to reuse and recycle waste, evaluating the environmental impact of these practices, and determining how they can contribute to cost reduction, thereby enhancing the competitiveness of these companies. | eng |
