Resumen
El presente documento relaciona el procedimiento utilizado para obtener la caracterización geomecánica, zonificación geotécnica y el análisis de respuesta sísmica de una extensa área en la zona rural del Municipio de Barrancabermeja en el suroccidente del Departamento de Santander. Para esto se estudió un número considerable de exploración directa e indirecta, acompañada de los respectivos ensayos de laboratorio y se analizó la información correspondiente al ambiente hidrogeológico, tectónico y antrópico que permitieron identificar los eventos naturales que pueden ser más desfavorables en dicha zona y determinar áreas que representarán un peligro similar en términos de amenaza sísmica.
Abstract. This document relates the procedure employed in order to obtain the geomechanical characterization and geotechnical zonification, and the analysis of seismic response in a large rural area in Barrancabermeja municipality, which is located at southwest of Santander department. For this purpose, a considerable amount of direct and indirect exploration, as well as the appropriate laboratory tests, were studied, and the corresponding information to the hydrogeological, tectonic and anthropical environment was analyzed. As a result, it was possible to identify the natural events that may be more unfavorable in such place and to determine areas with similar risk in terms of seismic hazard.
