Evaluación hidrológica de la subcuenca alta del río Chinchiná

Abstract

La subcuenca alta del Río Chinchiná es una de las de mayor importancia en el Departamento de Caldas, por pertenecer a una región que se define como ecosistema estratégico productor de recursos naturales, como es el Parque Nacional Natural de Los Nevados, y además por contribuir a soportar la mayor población a escala regional establecida sobre la Cuenca del Río Chinchiná. El presente estudio incluye un aporte al conocimiento de las características físicas territoriales de la región, y en detalle, el comportamiento hidrológico de la cuenca y del río para efectos de cuantificar, en términos probabilísticos, la posible ocurrencia de un evento de inundación que pudiera afectar a la población asentada en el Barrio La Playita / Abstract: The high sub-basin of the Chinchiná River is one of those of more importance in the Department of Caldas, to belong to a region that is defined as strategic ecosystem producing of natural resources, like it is the Natural National Park Los Nevados, and also to contribute to support the biggest population to established regional scale on the basin of the Chinchiná River. The present study includes a contribution to the knowledge of the territorial physical features of the region, and in detail, the hydrological behavior of the basin and of the river for effects of quantifying, in probabilistic terms, the possible occurrence of a flood event that could affect the population seated in the neighborhood of La Playita
