| dc.description.abstract | Esta investigación revela la diversidad genética y cultural de una población de 126 cultivares de yuca (Manihot esculenta Crantz) provenientes de cuatro resguardos indígenas de la Amazonia colombiana y 3 M. esculenta spp. Flabellifolia, provenientes del CIAT. La investigación se realizó junto con los representantes de ocho etnias distribuidas en los resguardos de La Fuga, Andoque de Aduche, Nonuya de Villa Azul y con cabildo indígena CIHTACOYD del resguardo indígena Ticuna-Uitoto Kilometro 6 y 11. Con cada etnia se realizó un diálogo de saberes bidireccional que permitió generar y documentar formas tradicionales de cultivo de la yuca e información etnobotánica relacionada a los cultivares. Además, se realizó un estudio de la diversidad genética de los cultivares de yuca recolectados, describiendo la estructura poblacional e índices de diversidad genética, usando una matriz de 57.410 SNPs obtenidos mediante genotipificación por secuenciación (GBS). Por último, se plantea una discusión sobre la posible correlación entre la estructura genética de la población de yuca estudiada y la información etnobotánica recolectada de los cultivares de yuca en los cuatro resguardos indígenas. Este estudio confirma el papel de la diversidad cultural en la generación, transmisión y conservación de la diversidad biológica en general y de la yuca en particular. | dc.description.abstract | This research reveals the genetic and cultural diversity of a population of 129 cassava (Manihot esculenta Crantz) cultivars from four Indigenous reserves in the Colombian Amazon and 3 M. esculenta spp. Flabellifolia from CIAT. The study was conducted in collaboration with representatives of eight Indigenous ethnic groups living in the reserves of La Fuga, Andoque de Aduche, Nonuya de Villa Azul, and the Indigenous council CIHTACOYD from the Ticuna-Uitoto reserves at Kilometers 6 and 11. A bidirectional dialogue of knowledge was established with each ethnic group, allowing for the generation and documentation of traditional cassava cultivation practices and ethnobotanical information related to the cultivars. In addition, a genetic diversity study was carried out on the collected cassava cultivars, describing population structure and genetic diversity indices using a matrix of 57,410 SNPs obtained through genotyping-by-sequencing (GBS). Finally, the study discusses the potential correlation between the genetic structure of the cassava population and the ethnobotanical information gathered from the cultivars across the four Indigenous reserves. This research confirms the role of cultural diversity in the generation, transmission, and conservation of biological diversity in general, and cassava in particular.
