The objective of this research was to determine and characterize isolated Begomovirus on a molecular basis of weeds, which are associated to tomato crops in Valle del Cauca. The sampling of weeds was done in Florida, Cerrito, Ginebra, and Candelaria. Their total vegetal DNA was purified and bipartite Begomovirus’ presence was detected through the PCR technique. Key words: Solanum lycorpsicum, weed, Geminivirus, whitefly.
