dc.description.abstractLa estrategia de Internet de las cosas no debe verse solo como un mecanismo de reducción de costos en las empresas manufactureras; en cambio, debe verse como la base para la transición a un nuevo modelo de negocio que monetice los datos de un ecosistema inteligente. No obstante, la revisión de la literatura permitió detectar un vacío de conocimiento en donde prevalecen las contribuciones técnicas, descriptivas y generales; en tal sentido, descifrar el funcionamiento del sistema de creación de valor y encontrar un equilibrio entre la estrategia digital y el despliegue de plataformas tecnológicas, son las principales motivaciones de esta investigación. Para lograr los objetivos propuestos se ha adoptado la teoría de sistemas y un estudio de expertos en la etapa de conceptualización, posteriormente, se ha utilizado la dinámica de sistemas para construir una representación computacional; luego mediante simulación dinámica, se ha ajustado el modelo de acuerdo con las iteraciones y los límites identificados del sistema; en consecuencia, con el conjunto de resultados obtenidos se han identificado diferentes comportamientos de creación y captura de valor. La metodología propuesta soporta el diseño de modelos de negocio digitales sustentables, y está centrada en el aprovechamiento del motor del sistema de creación de valor del ecosistema IoT (Internet of Things). La investigación demuestra que el modelo de evaluación del sistema, así como los procedimientos de análisis asociados y la metodología de diseño, son pertinentes, aplicables y escalables a otros ámbitos fuera del hogar conectado y en otras empresas de manufactura. Finalmente, además de la contribución académica a través de artículos y ponencias, en la parte práctica hubo transferencia de conocimiento y habilitación para la toma de decisiones en el contexto de la estrategia digital de la compañía.spa
dc.description.abstractInternet of Things strategy should not be seen only as a cost reduction mechanism for manufacturing companies; instead, it should be seen as the foundation for transitioning to a new business model that monetizes the data from an intelligent ecosystem. In this regard, deciphering the operation of the value creation system and finding the balance between the digital strategy and the deployment of technological platforms, are the main motivations behind this research. To achieve the proposed objectives, systems theory and Delphi study has been adopted in the conceptualization stage and system dynamics have been used to build a computational representation; Then, by means of dynamic simulation, the model has been adjusted according to the iterations and the limits identified of the system, consequently, with the set of results obtained, different behaviours of creation and capture of value have been identified. In line with the above, the proposed methodology supports the design of sustainable digital business models and this focuses on taking advantage of the engine of the value creation system of IoT ecosystem. The research demonstrated that the system evaluation model, associated analysis procedures, and design methodology are relevant, applicable, and scalable, even to other settings outside of the connected home and white goods companies. Finally, in addition to the academic contribution through articles and presentations, in the practical side there was knowledge transfer and enablement for decision-making.eng

dc.description.methodsDesde el punto de vista del tipo de investigación la tesis se definió como mixta, con diseño descriptivo explicativo en dos fases, una primera fase descriptiva basada en el método de expertos y la simulación (Hernandez Sampieri, Fernández, & Baptista, 2014), en donde se buscaba tener una abstracción del sistema de creación de valor del ecosistema de consumo (en el contexto del hogar conectado), así como, la ampliación de conocimiento base sobre la dinámica de creación de valor en el ecosistema, lo anterior apoyado en el método de expertos y en la experimentación a través de métodos de lógica difusa y dinámica de sistemas. La segunda parte, se diseñó con una línea explicativa, utilizando el método de caso con un valor instrumental, lo cual quiere decir, que se usó para generalizar a partir de situaciones específicas en el entorno de la compañía de línea blanca; en términos generales, dicho caso tomó un papel de apoyo en esta investigación con el fin de formular afirmaciones sobre el diseño de ecosistemas IoT (Jiménez & Comet, 2016). En el mismo sentido, se planteó usar el enfoque de la teoría fundamentada, el cual tenía como objetivo desarrollar una descripción teórica sobre las características y el diseño de ecosistemas IoT, en esta línea, para alcanzar este objetivo se tuvo en cuenta la revisión de literatura, además de las observaciones y entrevistas ejecutadas en el estudio de caso (Walsh, 2015).spa
