Summary
Cassette recorded by Luis Neeba Gwajko during the years 2000 and 2001 as part of his musical teaching to the children of the Marcelino de Castelvi school (Puerto Remanso del Tigre, Colombia). Luis Neeba Gwajko recorded a total of five cassettes with the children of that school to encourage the learning of traditional miraña songs, this is the second one we upload. Luis Neeba Gwajko also taught songs that he himself labels as western, because, besides the traditional miraña singing, he also cultivated "western" singing by being a guitarist, harmonica player and composer. Side A was recorded on 28/08/2000, 02/09/2000 and 05/06/2001; in it, "western" songs can be heard such as "Virgen de la esperanza" performed with flutes by the children's ensemble and singing of the popoo'e majtsi dance. Popoo'e majtsi is an ancient dance, originating with the Creator Piiveebe, and is of baptism. On side B, no date is specified, but this side was marked as apʉko majtsi, which is also a dance originating with Creator Piiveebe, but is now known as illo majtsi and is about doing chagra. The audio contains the A and B sides of the cassette. Keywords
