El turismo rural como estrategia de desarrollo sostenible: caso municipio de La Mesa(Cundinamarca)

Abstract

Se determinó el aporte del turismo rural en el cambio del estado de desarrollo de los habitantes del municipio de La Mesa (Cundinamarca), bajo el enfoque de “desarrollo humano sostenible”. Se elaboró una revisión de los conceptos: medio rural, turismo, turismo rural, desarrollo y sostenibilidad que permitió enmarcar la investigación. Con la Metodología de Sistemas Suaves adaptada de Checkland se construyó un modelo ideal de un turismo rural que contribuyera al desarrollo humano sostenible”. El modelo se contrastó con lo encontrado en el Municipio, donde, a través de la misma metodología en conjunto con la “inmersión social” se caracterizó el sistema turístico de la Mesa en el momento de la investigación. Al realizar el análisis se evidenciaron conflictos originados por las cosmovisiones divergentes sobre el turismo rural en el territorio, de diferentes grupos de actores locales interesados o afectados por la actividad turística. Se encontró que en el municipio no existía un sistema de turismo rural claramente delimitado y que el modelo de turismo que se realizaba no estaba contribuyendo al desarrollo sostenible de sus habitantes de manera generalizada. The purpose was found if the Rural Tourism was contributing in the sustainable human development in La Mesa (Cundinamarca). Starting from the revision of the rural territory, rural tourist and development concepts, the Social Immersion and Soft Systems Methodology are used to model the tourist system of the province of La Mesa – Colombia. This model made possible to identify the main elements that must have an “ideal rural tourist system” that drives to increase the development level into rural people; the ideal system was contrasted with the “real rural tourist system” in the providence of La Mesa. With this methodology was possible to identify the subsystems that made part of the rural tourist system and was possible to recognize human conflicts as consequence of the big differences between the weltanschauung of the each owner in each system. It concludes the Rural Tourism system didn’t exist in the municipality and the Tourism no was not contributing in the development of local population.
